- Expert knowledge- you really must have the experience and a deep understanding of your product or service to sell yourself properly
- Strategic Vision – you must be driven to succeed in your business, living and breathing your dream
- Carpe Diem – You must be able to seize the opportunities and the moments given to you.
- Networking – a good networker will not only look for opportunities for himself but keep an eye open for others; a good referral will always come back to you.
- Extroverted- Unless you’re running an internet business with no accessibility to others or live in a cave you cannot be a loner in business. You must like people especially your customers.
- Optimistic- If you tend to look at the glass half empty you will find it hard to have the necessary enthusiasm to excite others about your business.
- Handle Stress- Let me tell you this is an important one. Being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart, you may need to be able to manage stress.
- Persistence- Stick-to-it-ive-ness or what ever you call it. Brian Scudamore of 1-800-Got-Junk tried to obtain that memorable phone number which was already in use. He made 78 phone calls before someone said he could have it. Determination is key.
- Lifelong Learning- Learn from your mistakes as well as your victories. Successful entrepreneurs see business as a continuous learning experience with a lot of fine tuning of accepted practices and procedures.
- Communication- You must be able to get your message out to your customers, as well as your employees.
