To fill them with your vitality.  With your spirit. With your passion.  With your imagination. With your Soul.
But in order to create opportunities, the entrepreneur within you must first recognize what an opportunity is, and what purpose it serves.

What happens in the Dreaming Room is that each and every participant is taken on a unique, one-of-a-kind journey.  Unique, because it is their journey and their journey only.

Having been an entrepreneur for over 30 years, a young man asked me to comment on What Keeps Entrepreneurs awake at night.  That question resonated deep within me.

On many nights, a fine scotch put me to sleep when faced with what appeared to be insurmountable problems each of us faces.

The primary thing that I have learned over the years is that we fail to leave the Technician role we start out with according to Michael Gerber, author of the E-Myth. Gerber says there are 3 people in the head of each entrepreneur, the Technician, the Manager and the Entrepreneur. I just attended the last Dreaming Room lead by the world famous Michael E. Gerber, the man who coined the term “Business Coach’ more than 30 years ago.

Michael Gerber is a man who understands what it means to be an entrepreneur and how to walk the walk having done so for around 40 years. I have been inspired by Michael for many years after he hired me to be his personal photographer when he was on a speaking engagement to Vancouver over the course of 3 days in Vancouver many years ago. He gave me a tape of the E-Myth and that set me on my current course of Working On the Business Not in It.

Having said that it is not an easy feat to suddenly stop working doing the job you may like and having others do it for you. Giving up control to gain control is a strange statement but very true. If you give up being the technician to manage the business you will have taken the biggest step towards being an entrepreneur with absolute control. Read the rest of this entry
